How are servings sizes calculated?
CalorieSmart offer the ability to specify serving
sizes for food items. Most food items are specified in typical serving
sizes (example: 3 oz for steaks). In addition, you can change the
servings to be in grams, ounces, cup, tbsp, tsp, etc depending on the
food item. When you change the serving size, the new nutritional
values are calculated and shown. You can then save the food item as a
favorite and the unit will remember the serving sizes that you
specified.
How are exercise calories calculated?
The CalorieSmart unit has a built-in database of exercises. When you
specify the time spent on an exercise, the calories are calculated
based upon your body weight. You can also create custom exercises or
input the calories (say, from a treadmill readout) directly into the
unit.
Is the PC software included with the CalorieSmart unit?
CalorieSmart model CS100S has a USB port for PC connectivity. The PC
software and a mini-USB cable are included along with the CS100S unit.
Do I need a computer to use CalorieSmart?
No. CalorieSmart is a handheld device that works independent of the
computer. CalorieSmart model CS100S has an USB port. If you do have a
PC the CS100S unit can be connected to the computer and data from the
device can be downloaded on to your PC.
What kind of batteries are needed for CalorieSmart?
CalorieSmart uses two of the standard AAA size batteries.
